Physical Meet Code of Conduct

  1. Introduction

This Code of Conduct outlines the expected standards of behavior for all participants, including members, volunteers, staff, and guests (collectively, “participants”) while attending physical meetings and events held by LancastFUR.

We are dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive experience for everyone at our physical gatherings, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or technical ability.

  1. Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Be Considerate and Respectful: Treat all fellow participants, staff, venue personnel, and members of the public with courtesy and respect. Focus on collaboration, mutual support, and fostering a positive environment.
  • Communicate Thoughtfully: Be mindful of your words and actions. Avoid discriminatory language, insults, or demeaning comments.
  • Respect Boundaries: Respect the personal space and physical boundaries of others. Always seek explicit permission before physical contact.

  1. Unacceptable Behavior (Zero Tolerance)

The following behaviors are considered harassment and are unacceptable at our meets:

  • Harassment: Includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments related to any protected class (as listed above), stalking, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and offensive or threatening behavior.
  • Bullying and Intimidation: Any conduct, dress, or speech that targets, threatens, or is otherwise intended to cause distress to other participants.
  • Unwanted Contact: The use of sustained disruption of talks or events. “No” means “No” always. A lack of vocalized refusal does not imply consent.
  • Weapons: Carrying any actual weapons or any item that can be easily mistaken for one is strictly prohibited within event spaces.
  • Illegal Activities: Engaging in any illegal acts, including the purchase or distribution of alcohol/substances to minors.

  1. Personal Conduct
  • Public Setting and Image: When participating in group events in public venues, remember that we are guests. We expect all participants to maintain civil conduct and to represent the group in a positive light to the public.
  • Hygiene: We encourage all attendees to maintain a reasonable level of personal hygiene. If an organizer notes a noticeable offensive odor, you may be asked to step away to rectify the situation or leave the event.
  • Respect for Property: Participants must respect the property of the venue and other attendees. Any destruction, damage, or unauthorized use of property will result in the participant being held responsible for the cost of repairs and any applicable fines.
  • Apparel and Attire: All participants must wear appropriate clothing for a public, all-ages-friendly environment.

Prohibited Items: Military-specification (Milspec) gear, tactical vests, or realistic combat uniforms are not permitted.

Fetish/NSFW Gear: Fetish-related apparel, including but not limited to harnesses, ABDL-related items (diapers/onesies worn as outerwear), and other NSFW or sexually suggestive gear, is strictly prohibited at all events, (excluding 21+ events).

Staff reserves the right to ask any attendee to change or leave if their attire is deemed inappropriate for the venue.

  1. Reporting and Enforcement
  • Reporting an Incident: If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an event organizer or staff member immediately.

Staff members will be clearly identifiable (e.g., through specific badges or apparel) and will handle reports with discretion and seriousness. We will assist participants in contacting local law enforcement, providing escorts, or otherwise helping those experiencing harassment feel safe.

  • Consequences: Any participant asked to stop any unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the organizers reserve the right to take any action deemed appropriate, up to and including:

  1. Issuing a verbal warning.
  2. Requiring immediate removal from the event without refund.
  3. Banning the participant from all future activities.

The severity of the action taken will be at the discretion of the event organizers or staff, following a review of the incident.

  1. Liability and Safety

LancastFUR will not be responsible for any personal injury due to neglect of event venue or group rules, or for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. All attendees are responsible for their own property and personal safety.
